Changes prior to the 1891 Season
England
- Stoke is back in the Baseball League
- The Darwen Salmoners (3rd place in the Baseball Alliance) are also elected as the Baseball League expands to 14 teams
- Sunderland Albion defect from the Baseball Alliance
- The Burton Swifts (Burton Albion in the far future), Ardwick Brewerymen (Manchester City in the near future) and Lincoln Imps join the Baseball Alliance
Scotland
- Cowlairs are voted out of the league due to fielding professional players
- Clyde, Leith Athletic and Renton join the Scottish League, expanding it to 12 teams
Ireland
- Clarence and Milford fold
- The Irish League also expands to 10 teams: Lancashire Fusiliers, Milltown, Ligoniel and YMCA join the league
Argentina
- A 5-team league has been founded in Argentina, set to run for the first time in 1891
