I always hope for a surprise or two! Or 24 (now 28)
I'm struggling with a few things for my dynasty right now and wonder how I should approach it. You see, when I do my daily four-dice rolls, there are 25 possibilities, two of which are either the max event (three 1's and another number) and supermax event (all 1's). Earlier in the dynasty, this would prompt me to create a storyline. However, due to other events in the past, well, almost two years, I feel that I either move the dynasty on or get stuck on creating/continuing a storyline. When there were big gaps in my post, it was always because I needed to create a storyline and then write the narratives related to that storyline. Due to my life being consumed by being busy as an employee and full-time doctoral student, writing narratives are a bit tougher than just recording and reporting events from the baseball side.
I looked at my narratives page and there were a lot of open-ended storyline. Recently, I have just been doing something simple like changing a stadium name or reshuffling minor affiliates when rolling "events." If I cannot spend the time writing stories (already lost the Vegas connections storyline since I am past time) currently until I have my time back from completing my degree--goal May 2025!!!--some of my plans for this dynasty have to be tabled. I have ideas, like chronicles reported on after the fact, but it bothers me as a reader and a writer not to have continuity.
Anyway, I am thinking of what I can do in the meantime for my max/supermax event rolls. Constantly changing stadium names or making plans to reshuffle minor affiliations is not working, so what else can I do in its place? For reference, the other possibilities are trade, plus stats (ratings), minus stats (ratings), negative incidents, and creature attack.
Any of my readers out there have an idea for a 6th possibility? Or something in the events realm that could be "quick"? I am open to ideas!
Now, back to the predictions. I am actually surprised all four expansion teams did not get predicted to lose 100 games. While they picked up some serviceable veterans in the expansion draft, teams keep fleecing the expansion teams by trading OK prospects for those veterans that could help them go around 50-80. I have tried to balance that by giving an immediate boost in ratings to the players traded for, but it has driven me crazy that the expansion teams are giving away decent players they attained before they even played a game for that franchise.
