Emperor Jingzong of Tang was a 15 year old Chinese emperor who reigned from the year 824 A.D. until his assassination in 827 A.D. He was mentioned by baseball historian John Thorn as having been criticized for often playing an early baseball-like game rather than taking care of the needs of his people. He also played a lot of polo and loved music, so much so that he would give away super expensive items and other 'lavish rewards' to musicians he liked. It remains unclear whether or not he actually invented the ball game he played or not.
