The 2055 Amateur Draft

That time of year again, although with the draft in mid-July IRL and in all my other Rays saves it always seems to come as a surprise in this one. Our top picks:

Bonilla: A high-school lefty out of St. Louis, he has a chance to be an ace with 75/55/65 potential according to my scouts but OSA sees him more as a mid-rotation type.

Polk: A high-school kid from Illinois who looks like he can stay in CF (55 potential with much higher on the corners) to go with 70 contact and 60 power potential.

Thompson: A less athletic OF than Polk and perhaps a future DH or 1B, the Colorado prepster boasts 75 contact/65 power potential.

Cross: Our first college player taken (albeit from Canada), he projects as a utility IF type with a chance to start if he lives up to his 60 potential in the field as a SS and get the contact to 55 and the power to 50 as he could.

Robledo: Another high-school who is listed as a "catcher" but isn't viewed to have more than 30 potential at the position. His calling card of course is his bat and if he lives up to his 70 contact and 60 power potential he'll make a fine DH.
