Carlos Chavez has fashioned a six bout unbeaten streak to zoom up the rankings and into the top 10. Ray Famechon regained the EBU title, winning a rematch with Ronnie Clayton, who retained his other two regional belts. A large influx of new talent is coming to the division in 1950, led by Shigeji Kaneko of Japan.
