Association Semifinal Round Results

#5 Country Crossing vs #1 Nordhagen Beach

Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 7, County Crossing 1

Association Semifinal Round Game 1 Victory for Nut and Nordhagen Beach

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys started the Association Semifinal Round in style today, downing the visiting County Crossing Bloodbugs at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 7-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Party Boys left-hander Beachboy Nut threw 9.0 innings allowing 1 runs.

Nut allowed 1 run on 9 hits over 9 innings for the Party Boys. He walked 0 and struck out 7.

"I take a professional approach to my job," said Nut. "I've been around this game for a while."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.

Game 2: County Crossing 11, Nordhagen Beach 8

Rooth Blasts Party Boys, Bloodbugs Take Game 2, 11-8

With right fielder Babs Rooth leading the charge, the County Crossing Bloodbugs got a road win over the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys, 11-8, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round today. Rooth went 4-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium to help County Crossing force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

County Crossing relied on the hitting of Jimjames LaFleur to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bloodbugs on top, 5-0. For the game, LaFleur had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I like our moxie," said Bloodbugs manager Crow Guai.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 10, County Crossing 5

Bloodbugs Hammered by Goodman, Drop Game 3 to Party Boys

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series today, downing the County Crossing Bloodbugs on the road at Beantown Brewery Stadium by a score of 10-5. Party Boys left fielder Young Goodman was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 4 times. The win gives the Party Boys a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

Nordhagen Beach grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Maxx Murtagh delivered a solo home run, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Party Boys.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Murtagh.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Beantown Brewery Stadium in County Crossing.

Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 6, County Crossing 5

Party Boys Advance to Association Championship Series

The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys didn't hold back their excitement after beating the County Crossing Bloodbugs in the Association Semifinal Round tonight.

Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 6-5 win moving the club on to the Association Championship Series, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the Beantown Brewery Stadium crowd.

"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a Sole Survivor Series, so it's an important step," said Jonathan Angelou as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."

Angelou was named series MVP, as he hit .412 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 4 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.

On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Bloodbugs sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Nordhagen Beach celebrate.

The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



#6 Starlight Killers vs #2 Bunker Hill 75ers

Game 1: Starlight 3, Bunker Hill 2

Killers Edge 75ers 3-2 to Open ASF

The Starlight Killers powered past the hometown Bunker Hill 75ers, 3-2, in the opener of the Association Semifinal Round at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium today. Starlight starting pitcher Digger Vadim threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Killers now lead the series 1-0.

Starlight used a well-timed hit by Hurr Lee Reyes to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Killers ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I really like what we did out there today," Reyes said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Game 2: Bunker Hill 6, Starlight 3

Raucous Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium Crowd Propels 75ers to 6-3 Victory; Series Tied at 1

The Bunker Hill 75ers topped the Starlight Killers by the score of 6-3 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Association Semifinal Round today. The largest share of the credit belongs to Bunker Hill starter Max Thunderdome, who threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 runs in the win.

In the bottom of the first, Bunker Hill shortstop Aaron Squire had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Squire stroked a 3-run home run to right. It made the score 3-0, Bunker Hill. For the game, he was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Squire.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington.

Game 3: Starlight 10, Bunker Hill 5

Shorthop Blasts 75ers, Killers Take Game 3, 10-5

The Starlight Killers moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series today, downing the visiting Bunker Hill 75ers at Valentine Detective Agency Field by a score of 10-5. Killers shortstop Tib Shorthop did some major damage. He was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The win gives the Killers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

Shorthop was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 against the 75ers. In the bottom of the first inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Starlight in front, 1-0.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Shorthop.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington.

Game 4: Starlight 5, Bunker Hill 1

Killers Win Association Semifinal Round

The Starlight Killers are one step closer to winning a Sole Survivor Series, and the season came to a close for the Bunker Hill 75ers.

Starlight won the Association Semifinal Round 3-1, with a 5-1 victory in the deciding game at Valentine Detective Agency Field today.

Starlight second baseman Looter Knol was named the MVP of the series, after hitting .400 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 homers, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"I just hope I can keep it up in the Association Championship Series," he said.

The Starlight Killers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys - County Crossing Bloodbugs series. Nordhagen Beach leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



#4 Oberland T-51s vs #1 Roxbury Rad Sox

Game 1: Roxbury 6, Oberland 2

Pawlak, Rad Sox Wallop T-51s in Game 1 of ASF

The Roxbury Rad Sox started the Association Semifinal Round in style today, downing the visiting Oberland T-51s at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 6-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Rad Sox center fielder Ben Pawlak was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Pawlak, who led the SCA in doubles with 43 in 2306, hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Rad Sox into the lead, 4-2.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Roxbury manager Bryan Pingree said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.

Game 2: Oberland 9, Roxbury 5

Oberland Win to Pull Even With Roxbury

In a crucial game, the Oberland T-51s put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 9-5 today. Zaire Inquisitor went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Oberland and Roxbury are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.

Inquisitor had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the T-51s. Coming up with runners on 1st and 3rd and Oberland trailing 5-4, he hit a 3-run home run.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Inquisitor.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 3: Oberland 8, Roxbury 7

Oberland Overcomes 2 HRs from Mour, Tops Roxbury in Extras for 2-1 Series Lead

When the games really matter, the Oberland T-51s put on their best show, beating the Roxbury Rad Sox by a final score of 8-7 today. Ayag Mour went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Oberland now leads Roxbury 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Oberland first baseman Chase Doctorman, facing Igor Kelp, had a run-scoring single. It gave the T-51s the 8-7 win.

"This win gets us that much closer to where we want to be," Doctorman said in postgame remarks.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oberland Stadium in Oberland.

Game 4: Oberland 1, Roxbury 0

T-51s Heading to Association Championship Series

The Oberland T-51s said they felt the Association Semifinal Round with the Roxbury Rad Sox would go the distance.

But it didn't end up being that difficult, as Oberland advanced to the Association Championship Series with a 1-0 score, to clinch the series 3-1 at Oberland Stadium.

"Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Orcin Cardinal, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the Sole Survivor Series."

For the series, Cardinal hit .500 with a .526 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Oberland T-51s don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Vault 81 Dwellers - Quincy Gunners series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



#3 Vault 81 Dwellers vs #2 Quincy Gunners

Game 1: Quincy 8, Vault 81 7

Home Field Advantage: Fischler, Quincy Open Association Semifinal Round with Win

The Quincy Gunners started the Association Semifinal Round in style today, downing the visiting Vault 81 Dwellers at The Stone House by a score of 8-7 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Gunners right fielder Baywatch Fischler was 4-5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 8 RBI and scoring twice.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Fischler delivered big-time for Quincy, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Ryan Goodpryce. The game-changing hit put the Gunners on top, 8-6.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Fischler told the Quincy Gazette. "It's as simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 2: Vault 81 7, Quincy 1

Byrd, Dwellers Wallop Gunners in Game 2 of ASF

With second baseman Harry Byrd leading the charge, the Vault 81 Dwellers got a road win over the Quincy Gunners, 7-1, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round today. Byrd went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times at The Stone House to help Vault 81 force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Stu Gains, the six-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gains contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put Vault 81 up, 6-0.

Gains attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 7th , 2310 at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 3: Vault 81 3, Quincy 1

Vault 81 Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in ASF

The Vault 81 Dwellers moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series today, downing the visiting Quincy Gunners at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 3-1. Dwellers right-hander Closecall Jones had a strong outing in which he threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Dwellers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

In the bottom of the seventh, Vault 81 left fielder Devin Ghoul hit a 2-run single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-1, Dwellers.

"We had a good game plan," Jones said, "and we were able to execute it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 4: Quincy 4, Vault 81 3

Gunners Clip Dwellers 4-3 in ASF Contest

The Quincy Gunners and the Vault 81 Dwellers will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Gunners beat the Dwellers 4-3 at CURIE Inc. Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Quincy right fielder Baywatch Fischler was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.

The outcome might have been different had it not been for Fischler. In the top of the ninth inning, when the Gunners were trailing 3-2, Fischler delivered a two-out 2-run single for Quincy, giving his team the lead. Had he not hit the go-ahead hit, the Gunners would have been finished.

Fischler called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 10th , 2310 at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 5: Quincy 5, Vault 81 3

Gunners Move on to Association Championship Series

The Quincy Gunners were paced by a strong offensive output from Baywatch Fischler as they downed the Vault 81 Dwellers 3-2 to win the Association Semifinal Round.

Quincy won the final game by a score of 5-3 at The Stone House to send themselves off to the Association Championship Series.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said right fielder Fischler, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .474 with a .545 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs.

The Quincy Gunners will play against the Oberland T-51s in the next round. Oberland won their series against the Roxbury Rad Sox 3 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.
