Depends if a) the Mets reach actual contention, not "there are 9 sucky teams for two spots, maybe we'll get lucky in October" and b) does Uncle Stevie delude himself that they have a chance to re-sign Peeete, despite the complete lack of movement on that front and how he now has an easy escape route at year's end.
I'd make the trade in a heartbeat. (I'd curse the idiots who failed to lock Pete up years ago, but that's icebergs under the bridge at this point.) But I'm not Uncle Stevie, as you can tell from the fact that I can't afford a trip to Citi Field [for the Def Leppard-Journey-Steve Miller show on August 7] and he owns the park. So, who knows?
