Cardinal Blasts Party Boys, T-51s Take Game 1, 5-3
The Oberland T-51s started the Sole Survivor Series in style today, winning on the road against the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 5-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. T-51s right fielder Orcin Cardinal excelled. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice.
Oberland used the bat of Judge Sharp to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the T-51s ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cardinal.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.
