IPA ALL-STARS GATHER THIS TUESDAY IN EAST POINT FOR 84TH ALL-STAR CLASSIC
One week from today the Islandian Pro Alliance All-Stars will come out to shine at Armed Forces Park in East Point for the 84th IPA All-Star Classic. 52 of the biggest and brightest stars in Islandian baseball will have their chance to shine on the diamond. The Tycobbian Union All-Stars will be led by Rolling Hills shortstop Emmett Spangler, who is making his 7th appearance in the star-studded game. The Ruthlandian Union All-Stars will be paced by 7-time All-Star first baseman Troy Swinnerton of the LaGrange Gators. Spangler will be joined by 3-time honorees: catcher Liam McWhirter of La Claire, third sacker Johnny Doolen of Hillsboro and center fielder Rex Good of Colchester. Swinnerton will have the help of 3-time All-Stars: pitcher Orrin Wessex of Cold Creek, second baseman Tim Bozeman of Colfax, left fielder Bruno Lutz of Belair Beach and right fielder Harland Schiffman of Taranto. The Tycobbian Stars are far ahead in the annual clash with a sparkling 53-30 mark. The Belair Beach Sunbirds lead all comers with 7 All-Stars. Colfax and Hartsdale have 4 representatives and Rolling Hills 3. The oldest All-Star is pitcher Russ Stonestreet of Hillsboro. He is making his debut appearance at age 36. The youngest All-Stars are 20-year-old right fielder Kim Kallstrom of Bayview and right fielder Dutch Van Donk of Belair Beach. Only one rookie made the teams. That was Valmara center fielder Ozzie Sartori, age 24.
Last year's finalists in the Pro Cup Series, Johnny Moore of Pro Cup champion East Point and Lonny Rinehart of runner-up Volusia, will be the opposing managers in the All-Star Game.
