Treelover Throws CBO's 13th No-Hitter
It was a fantastic day for Goodneighbor Hancocks starter Clubhouse Treelover and a lousy day for the Spectacle Island Reapers.
The Goodneighbor hurler's pitching artistry completely befuddled and bewildered the Reapers, as the Hancocks cruised to a 3-0 win. When it was all over, Treelover was credited with one of the rarer feats in baseball -- a no-hitter.
"The ball was moving and darting, and best of all, going where I wanted it to go," Treelover said later.
He rang up 8 strikeouts and allowed 5 walks while shutting Spectacle Island down at Third Rail Stadium.
Treelover was the 1st-overall pick out of Weymouth of the CYL in the 2307 Draft. He made his CBO premier in 2309 with the Hancocks as a reliever, compiling a 5.44 ERA in 36 appearance. Last season, he moved to starter and had an instant impact on the team, finishing the season 13-10 with a 3.81 ERA in 31 starts. He finished second in the SCA in hits allowed per 9 innings (7.62).
