Frank Kitson, old diamond star, dies Death Comes Suddenly After Extended Illness.
Frank R. Kitson, 61, one of baseball's great pitchers of the olden days, dropped dead at his farm home two and one-half miles north of Allegan last night.
News of his death was received here today by Mrs. Lincoln Estes, a half sister. Kitson had been in poor health during the last five years, suffering at times from a heart ailment. However, he was about yesterday and apparently aa well as within months. Kitson, the farmer boy, started his baseball playing with independent teams In Muskegon and other places in western Michigan.
His work soon attracted attention and he went to the majors, where he starred with Baltimore and later with Brooklyn. From Brooklyn he was signed by Detroit in the American league. He ended his professional baseball career with Kansas City.
