To celebrate the release of
Garlon and Lansdowne St's InterGREATed NeL mod, I have decided to bring forward the final instalment in what I refer to as my "Four Quartets" of historical simulations, focusing on the Brooklyn Dodgers.
I was going to wait until I'd finished the Bucs save but have decided to just slow that one down a bit to accommodate for the time required for this new (ad)venture (and draw it out as long as possible).
I plan to take a few liberties with this one and have drawn up my own alternate timeline that I'll be following. Given the Dodgers franchise - well, Branch Rickey - not only integrated the league but were also one of the earliest proponents of the farm system, this will be a full minors save although, once again, I'll be applying my own timeline and structure incorporating both NeL and MiLB clubs from over the years.
While all franchises will begin with rosters as per the historical in 1901, thenceforth the league will by necessity hold an annual Rookie Draft. However, because I do want some alignment with the IRL, I will be manually allocating players to clubs they were associated with for the first few rounds each year.
I will also, as per usual, be applying some house rules to be followed in my running of the Dodgers franchise (which - SPOILER ALERT! - in this timeline never leaves Brooklyn) but to be totally honest I haven't quite finalised them at this point and they'll kind of be a work in progress until I get them just right.
Still a bit more preparatory and setup work to be done before I can kick this thing in the guts and get cracking.
