CBO Analysis
A little more than 10 more games were played since our last update, and we have four powers all leading their leagues, though two leagues are quite close. Starlight continues to hold the largest league lead at six games, but University Point went 8-2 in their last 10 to open a five-game lead in the Minutemen League. We also have a new #1 in the Power Rankings due to a red-hot 9-1 streak. Amazingly, that team is in 4th place in its league. Here are the current team power rankings for Commonwealth Baseball Organization:
Teams (Total Points, Tendency):
1) Vault 81 Dwellers (117.7, ++)
2) Roxbury Rad Sox (117.2, ++)
3) Nordhagen Beach Party Boys (114.4, -)

5) FHE Yao Guai (112.4, --)

8) Egret Ninjas (110.6, --)
9) Nahant Celtics (110.6, --)
10) Oberland T-51s (106.1, ++)
11) Fort Hagen Silver Shroud (97.3, +)
12) Sunshine Tidings Chemists (96.1, --)

28) Glowing Sea Radscorpions (37.6, o)
Brotherhood League
While Nordhagen Beach did not have a bad stretch, going 6-4 in their last 10, both Nahant (a game back) and Salem (two games back) went 7-3, making this a close league. The Slog is tied for 6th in the NCA with a 33-30 mark, so they need to win at a higher clip the rest of the way to guarantee a spot in the playoffs.
The Witch Hats are a good team but do not dominte in any one category. They are 5th in runs scored (334) and 4th in runs against (294). Their ace, Pokey Chatman (10-3, 2.90), has had a great season. On offense, the top four hitters are all tied for the team lead in home runs at 11: 2B Peter Pan Calvillo (.319/11/26), 1B Dan Erb (.273/11/29), RF Brian DeLong (.272/11/32), and LF Castor Puzzlemaker (.307/11/29).
Institute League
As mentioned in the preview, the Killers still own this league despite a miserable 3-7 stretch in their last 10. That cold run gives them just a one-game advantage over the Party Boys and Roxbury for the CBO's top record. Sunshine Tidings and Fort Hagen are the only two other squads above .500.
The Silver Shroud are tied for the 6th spot with the Ghouls and need to find a way to get its talented team in gear to match PAM's expectations. The Shroud have struggled on offense, ranking 9th in runs scored (314) while 6th in runs allowed (303). Their offensive struggles are strange since they are 3rd in average (.285) and home runs (99). One key could be stolen bases (13) and base running (-16.4) where they rank 14th in each. Still, their entire lineup can be considered dangerous with their top average leader, LF KiJana Mallee (.324/10/39) and their bottom hitter, CF Gnaw Lynns (.265/6/17), not having a huge difference. The same can be said in home runs, where Lynns has the least in the starting lineup and RF Foo Fieterz (.274/12/28) has the most.
Minutemen League
After going 8-2, the Deathclaws have pulled away a bit in the ML, giving them a five-game lead over Atom. Quincy, Spectacle Island, and Jamaica Plain all struggled again the past two weeks, dropping all three below .500.
The Claws are doing what they always do: outscore their opponents. University Point is 2nd in runs scored (374) and 5th in runs allowed (291). LF Chris Hirshfield (.336/21/62) may be more of a Nuka Hitter Award candidate this season than 1B Barker Cocoa (.377/11/46), though we will wait on that designation since Cocoa is tied with Nordhagen Beach SS Pipe Wallcrawler for the CBO's WAR lead (3.7). While the loss of CF Aesed Hayjen has been huge, RF Tomas Jones (.345/10/58) has returned to his old self this season. Leadoff hitter, 2B Chris Recore (.313/7/26), leads the team with 21 steals.
Railroad League
Five teams in the RL are above .500, with Oberland manning the rear at 34-29. This has to be the toughest league we have ever seen at this part of the season. Roxbury is only separated by 2.5 games from 4th-place Vault 81, whose 9-1 mark in the past 10 has driven them to #1 in the Power Rankings. FHE is just 0.5 games back, again proving to us that they are here to stay. We wonder what would have happened if they held on to SP Paul Stains (8-5, 3.55) now of the struggling Swatters.
The Dwellers have been even better than University Point in scoring runs, leading the SCA with 401 runs scored. Pitching seems to be the key to keeping them down, ranking 9th in runs allowed (321). Part of that is the huge struggles this season of the top two starters, Scruffy Taguchi (4-2, 6.21) and Exxie Summerset (5-5, 5.79). With the injury of CF Stu Gains (.343/15/62), the team Triple Crown leader right now, for the next month, the Dwellers may hurt on offense. Rookie CF Wee Wee Reese (.294/0/4) is not ready to assume that role, so Vault 81 may want to seek a backup in the trade department.
CBO Standings
CBO Players of the Week
June 12 - Veteran B.J. Perez had a great week at the plate for the Chemists to capture the majority of votes for Player of the Week in the North Charles Association.
The 34-year-old Sunshine Tidings right fielder built a .517 average on the strength of 15 hits in 29 at-bats, 3 home runs and 10 RBIs.
To date this year, Perez is batting .314 with 5 home runs.
Chris Connexx of the Vault 81 Dwellers had a spectacular week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the South Charles Association.
For the week Connexx batted .500 (11-for-22) with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.
For the season, Connexx is currently batting .318 with 6 home runs and 32 RBIs. In 55 games he has reached base at a .405 rate and scored 31 runs to date.
June 19 - It's always a thrill for fans of the team and students of the game alike when a superstar in the making shows what he's got. Jaxon Grits, the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud 23-year-old third baseman, put himself in the spotlight last week making him the clear-cut choice for North Charles Association Player of the Week honors.
He ripped 10 hits in 26 at-bats, compiling a .385 average with 3 home runs and 8 RBIs.
Grits on the season is hitting .271 with 9 home runs. His stats include 19 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
One of the league's most exciting young players, Mike Truk of the Southie Brews earned himself South Charles Association Player of the Week honors with a standout performance in last week's games.
For the week the 24-year-old first baseman had a lofty .519 average (14-for-27), collecting 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
This year, Truk is hitting .299 with 10 home runs and 39 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .302 clip and scored 32 runs.

MML All-Star Game
The Legends League All-Stars reigned supreme tonight at Wicked Shipping Field, with a 10-4 triumph over the Stars League All-Stars.
Legends League right fielder Pad Mee led the way for the winning club, putting up a 4-for-5 mark to earn game MVP honors.
"We had some fun out there," he said. "We've got a great league and a great team and I'm not surprised we won."
In 388 career games Mee is hitting at a .301 pace with 490 hits with 86 doubles, 12 triples and 57 homers while scoring 235 runs and racking up 215 RBIs. He logged 98 walks and owns a .348 on-base percentage.
