Royce Lewis's 1st inning bomb gave Minnesota an early 1-0 lead. The Twins scored 2 more times in the 2nd. Ryder Jones blasted his 1st home run of the season, a 2 run shot, in the 4th. That was all for Wantz. Angel Rondon relieved.
Rengifo doubled home a run in the bottom of the 5th. Schanuel’s 3 run home run, a majestic shot that went 426 feet to RF, mad eit 5-4 in the 6th.
Rondon pitched 2.2 scoreless innings before allowing a run in the 7th. Blake Treinen relieved him and got out of the inning.
Austin Hays delivered for the Halos in the bottom of the inning. His 2 run home run to RF tied the game at 6.
Luis Garcia could not hold the tie on the top of the 8th. Carlos Correa smacked a double into the LF corner to give Minnesota the lead again, although Manuel Margot was thrown out at the plate. Trout robbed Lewis of a home run to end the inning. Carlos Estevez came in in the 9th in order to hold it to a 1 run game. Instead, the Twins scored twice off him to expand their lead.
Rengifo had a good day, going 5-5 with a single in the 1st, single in the 3rd, double in the 5th, single in the 7th and single in the 9th.
