CCBL Award Winners
Hitter - The manager of the Glowing Sea College Glowing Ones said he thinks Sheen Doyle is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 18, but it will be hard to top the second baseman's 2311 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Top Collegiate Hitter Award.
His winning campaign featured a .428 batting average and a .496 on-base percentage this year. In 79 games he piled up 130 hits, 23 doubles, 2 triples, 24 home runs, 73 RBIs and 67 runs scored.
He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 24. Sheedy Smith of the Plymouth University Pioneers finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Jack of Diamonds Cordero of the Holy Cross Crusaders finished third with 1 first place vote.

Pitcher - Greyhounds ace Aqua Purified is the latest Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League Top Collegiate Pitcher Award trophy winner. The Assumption star shined on the diamond time and again this year and finished with an outstanding 14-3 record.
In 20 starts he tossed 142.1 innings, posted 106 strikeouts and sported a 2.66 ERA. Opposing batters hit .236 when Purified was pitching.
He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 24. Gilchrist Moore of the Boston College Eagles finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Fern Ashcroft of the Western New England Statesmen finished third.

Reliever - He may only be 20, but Hutch Wellspring of the Tufts University Jumbos has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Commonwealth Collegiate Baseball League.
The reliever was today named the CCBL Top Collegiate Reliever Award winner for 2311.
He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up no saves in 25 relief appearances and 25 strikeouts in 31 innings. He had a record of 0-1 to go with his 1.16 ERA.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 24. Boom Boom Valadez of the Boston College Eagles finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Surge Jowle of the Northeastern Huskies finished third with 2 first place votes.
