The Phillies took a 1-0 lead on Jordan Luplow’s RBI single in the top of the 2nd. Whit Merrifield followed with a HR down the LF line to make it 3-0. Westburg drilled a BOMB to LF in the bottom of the inning. Unfortunately Robles had been. Thrown out trying to steal 2B just before the hit.
Brandon Belt’s RBI single in the 5th made it 4-1. Thaiss doubled in the bottom of the inning and scored on a Robles single.
Rondon pitched 6 fairly effective innings and the bullpen pitched 3 scoreless innings but the offense could never get going against Phillies pitching.
Final Score: Philadelphia 4, Los Angeles 2
