Game 1: Nordhagen Beach 9, Starlight 4
Killers Hammered by Murtagh, Drop Game 1 to Party Boys
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys started the Association Championship Series in style, winning on the road against the Starlight Killers at Valentine Detective Agency Field by a score of 9-4 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Party Boys center fielder Maxx Murtagh excelled. He slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3.
Nordhagen Beach used the hitting of Jacob Tarberry to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Party Boys on top, 4-2. For the game, Tarberry had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You need to show up when your number's called," said Murtagh.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Valentine Detective Agency Field in Lexington.
Game 2: Nordhagen Beach 8, Starlight 2
Blammo, Party Boys Wallop Killers in Game 2 of ACS
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Clownie Blammo, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys got a road win against the Starlight Killers, 8-2, in Game 2 of the Association Championship Series. Blammo was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Party Boys, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Maxx Murtagh chipped in for Nordhagen Beach, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk.
Murtagh told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 23rd , 2311 at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.
Game 3: Nordhagen Beach 4, Starlight 1
Party Boys Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Sole Survivor Series
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys moved to within one game of the Sole Survivor Series, downing the visiting Starlight Killers at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium by a score of 4-1. Party Boys right-hander Deedee Martinson had a strong outing in which he threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Party Boys a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship Series.
In the bottom of the third inning, the Party Boys grabbed the lead when Young Goodman rapped a two-out home run. Nordhagen Beach was trailing 1-0, when Goodman hit a 3-run home run off Whokill Poole to put his team in front, 3-1.
"We lost," Starlight manager Josh Goldsby said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium in Winthrop.
Game 4: Nordhagen Beach 3, Starlight 2
Party Boys Heading to Sole Survivor Series
With a 3-2 victory at Slocum's Joe Seaside Stadium, the Nordhagen Beach Party Boys have completed a sweep of the Starlight Killers in the Association Championship Series.
"On to the Sole Survivor Series and feeling good," said Clownie Blammo. "I don't think our guys expected a sweep, but we'll certainly take it and rest up a bit."
For the series, Blammo hit .438 and won series MVP honors. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Nordhagen Beach Party Boys will play against the Roxbury Rad Sox in the next round. Roxbury won their series against the University Point Deathclaws 4 games to 1. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship Series finishes.

Game 1: Roxbury 9, University Point 1
Road Win Lifts Roxbury to 1-0 Lead in ACS
The Roxbury Rad Sox wasted no time taking the lead in the Association Championship Series, beating the University Point Deathclaws at Gwinnett Brewery Park by the score of 9-1. The win gives Roxbury a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rad Sox right-hander Urm Rehfeldt threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball.
Purple Gupta, who finished 4th in the SCA in batting average with .341 in 2304, helped out the Roxbury cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 3 for 5 with 3 singles.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Dirk Steadyhand.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Gwinnett Brewery Park in Boston.
Game 2: University Point 5, Roxbury 2
Jones Blasts Rad Sox, Deathclaws Take Game 2, 5-2
The University Point Deathclaws defeated the Roxbury Rad Sox, 5-2, in Game 2 of the Association Championship Series. Making an impact was right fielder Tomas Jones, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win moves University Point into a 1-1 tie with Roxbury in the series.
Chris Hirshfield, who led the SCA in RBI with 108 in 2311, chipped in a 2-run home run for University Point in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We did a lot of things right," said Jones.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 22nd , 2311 at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury in Roxbury.
Game 3: Roxbury 4, University Point 2
Pawlak Blasts Deathclaws, Rad Sox Take Game 3, 4-2
Riding the 2-hit performance of center fielder Ben Pawlak, the Roxbury Rad Sox stopped the visiting University Point Deathclaws, 4-2, in Game 3 of the Association Championship Series. Pawlak went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Rad Sox, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
One of the clutch hits for Roxbury came from one of their biggest talents. In the bottom of the seventh with one out, Ayag Mour, who finished 5th in the SCA in batting average with .343 in 2311, hit a 2-run single to put the Rad Sox up, 4-2. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
Roxbury manager Bryan Pingree praised his team's "businesslike approach."

Almost There: Roxbury On Cusp of ACS Triumph After 6-5 Win
The Roxbury Rad Sox moved to within one game of the Sole Survivor Series, downing the visiting University Point Deathclaws at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury by a score of 6-5. Rad Sox catcher Ayag Mour did some major damage. He was 3-4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. The win gives the Rad Sox a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Association Championship Series.
Emerald Sapphire aided the Roxbury cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman drove in one run.
"I like our moxie," said Rad Sox manager Bryan Pingree.

Game 5: Roxbury 5, University Point 0
Rad Sox Win Association Championship Series
All playoffs end with joy on one side and despair on the other. Today, the Roxbury Rad Sox are the ones feeling overwhelmed with excitement, and the University Point Deathclaws are the ones thinking about what they could have done differently.
The Rad Sox took a 5-0 victory at Atomatoys Stadium at Roxbury today, which gave Roxbury a 4-1 series win. Nuke Laloosh pitched the complete-game shutout, allowing five hits, walking two, and striking out four.
With the win, Roxbury will advance to play in the Sole Survivor Series.
"We aren't ready to go home yet," said Rad Sox catcher Ayag Mour, who was named series MVP.
The Roxbury Rad Sox don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Starlight Killers - Nordhagen Beach Party Boys series. Nordhagen Beach leads the series 3 games to 0. The Sole Survivor Series schedule will be announced after the Association Championship Series finishes.
