The Lilacs have made only two playoff appearances since the WBL began in 2040, in 2049 and 2051. They’re having a decent season at 48-42 as they head to Sheffield to face the Mountain Hares on their home turf.

Another hard fought victory for Sheffield as they took care of the Lilacs 8-7 with another exciting walk off win. The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Sheffield trailing 7-6, Adam Koehler hit a fastball from Pelike Keokia to left for a 2-run single as pandomonium broke out in the stands for the second game in a row. Willie Perez also hit his 30th home run of the season, the first Sheffield Mountain Hare to reach that milestone in a season. Nairobi second baseman Azmera Funga will be especially frustrated with the loss. He was 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
