I started the mod in 1893 the beginning a the dead ball era according to Bill James. Now I am currently in the preseason of 1914. Babe Ruth has just been drafted by the Boston Red Sox. Joe Kelley has just been inducted into the hall of fame. He joins 12 other members; Cap Anson, Dan Brouthers, Jesse Burkett, Jack Clements, Ed Delahanty, Billy Hamilton, Jimmy Ryan, John Clarkson, Tim Keefe, Kid Nichols, Amos Rusie and Gus Weyhing.

The mod expanded to 20 teams in 1911, with an expansion draft adding 4 NeL clubs (Homested Grays, Birmingham Black Barons, Chicago American Giants and the Kansas City Monarchs) to the 16 MLB teams. In the expansion draft the existing teams could only reserve 12 players.

To date there has been 61 NeL players in the league. Nine have retired; Bud Fowler, Frank Grant, Sol White, Regino Garcia, Rafael Almeida, Pop Andrews, Ashes Jackson, Jose Muoz and Julian Perez. This leaves 52 players active, 19 of them are on the expanded NeL clubs and 33 were reserved by the MLB teams. The creator of the mod has decided there are 212 NeL players who could have made an impact on the big leagues therefore at this point I'm about 30% into the pool.

I have decided to not trade or move the NeL players to the NeL clubs but just leave it progress naturally as if the new clubs were just that new clubs. But like the MLB clubs when the draft comes around I try to place the stars if you will on their respective clubs, ie. Babe Ruth on the Red Sox, Cristobal Torriente on a NeL club in this case the Birmingham Black Barons.

Awards and Accomplishments by NeL players:
Pete Hill was named NL rookie of the year in 1904
Frank Grant lead the american league in home runs three years in a row, 1894-1986
Pete Hill lead the national league in home runs in 1907 and triples in 1910
“Smoky” Joe Williams threw a NO-HITTER against the Senators on 6/16/1911
Hurly McNair lead the league in hits in 1912
Grant Johnson has played in 19 seasons totaling 2713 games for Detroit and New York
Bud Fowler now 55 years old played in the first 7 seasons holding a .310 batting average
Sol White played 12 seasons with a .297 career average, he was a starter for 8 of those years
Carlos Morán, first cuban player is in his 14th season led the league in stolen bases in 1901
