A Final Look at the Bradberton Boys League

2312 Award Winners

Hitter - Grue Hoopshot of the Fizztop Mountain Conquerors had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Most Valuable Player Award for 2312.

The 14-year-old first baseman put up a .405 average and a .547 on-base percentage, piling up 60 hits, 11 doubles, no triples, 17 home runs, 51 RBIs and 53 runs scored.

He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 16. Gage Novatron of the Wixon Shovels finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Red Tent Trudeau of the Mad Mulligan Travelers finished third with 1 first place vote.

Pitcher - Full Pack Williams walked away with the top pitching honors in the Bradberton Boys League this year. The Hadley Falls Reactors starter was named the Pitcher of the Year Award winner for 2312 earlier today.

This outstanding 17-year-old hurler fashioned a fine 4-1 won-lost record in 10 starts. He threw 51 innings, giving up 34 hits and 8 walks and holding opponents to a .185 average. Williams struck out 81 and posted a 1.41 ERA.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Nay Fukuoka of the Sherwood Manor Sasquatch finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Edgar Dreamland of the Forest Park Brahmiluffs finished third with 2 first place votes.

Reliever - At the young age of only 14, Tack Major has been named the Bradberton Boys League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2312.

The future appears bright for the Starport Nuka Hubologists relief ace, who captured the award with no saves in 19 relief appearances, 34 strikeouts in 24.2 innings and a record of 3-0 to go with his 0.36 ERA.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Bailey King of the King Cola Youths finished second in voting, while Madman Williams of the Fizztop Mountain Conquerors finished third.

The Maine Youth Leagues Tallies

2312 Awards Winners

MDIF Hitter - Vimmy Vim took Maine Youth Leagues by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 14.

For his spectacular campaign, the Beaver Creek Bowlers star has been named the 2312 Mount Desert Island Four Most Valuable Player Award recipient.

"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the right fielder.

On the season he compiled a .274 batting average to go with a .484 on-base percentage. The native of Augusta, Maine also added 7 doubles, no triples, 18 home runs, 47 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

He received 5 first place votes out of a possible 8. Maurice Bush of the National Park Rangers finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Lazaro Coulter of the Far Harbor Dockdwellers finished third with 2 first place votes.

GDIL Hitter - The manager of the Pleasant Cove Raiders said he thinks Porky Ashley is only going to get better as he gets older.

He may only be 14, but it will be hard to top the left fielder's 2312 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Great Diamond Island League Most Valuable Player Award.

His winning campaign featured a .432 batting average and a .538 on-base percentage this year. In 39 games he piled up 60 hits, 13 doubles, no triples, 17 home runs, 50 RBIs and 38 runs scored.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Lappy Swampfog of the Diamond Cove Fort Knights finished second in voting, while Manny Earthslay of the Diamond Cove Fort Knights finished third.

MDIF Starter - Reardon Bennett joined an elite group of pitchers today by picking up the Mount Desert Island Four Pitcher of the Year Award for 2312.

The 15-year-old hurler finished the year 5-1 for the National Park Rangers, piling up 56.1 innings, registering 70 strikeouts and walking 35 on his way to a solid 2.24 ERA.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Phlox Denobu of the Cliff's Edge Wolves finished second in voting, while Olave Tightrope of the National Park Rangers finished third.

GDIL Starter - The Great Diamond Island League made the official announcement today. The 2312 Great Diamond Island League Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Hector Foley of Echo Point.

He had a superlative season, chalking up a 5-2 won-lost mark with an impressive 2.31 ERA.

Foley logged 10 starts, threw 66.1 innings, yielded 60 hits, struck out 77 and held the opposition to a .236 batting average.

He received 8 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Cookie Jones of the Diamond Cove Fort Knights finished second in voting, while Seawall Levey of the Echo Point Glowers finished third.

MDIF Reliever - He may only be 14, but Marsh Hill of the Far Harbor Dockdwellers has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the Mount Desert Island Four.

The reliever was today named the MDIF Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2312.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up no saves in 16 relief appearances and 25 strikeouts in 16.1 innings. He had a record of 0-0 to go with his 1.65 ERA.

He received 6 first place votes out of a possible 8. Higby Higgins of the Beaver Creek Bowlers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Ralphie Fogdrinker of the National Park Rangers finished third.

GDIL Reliever - At the age of 15, Lapdog Sideburn says he still has a lot to learn about life in Maine Youth Leagues.

But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Diamond Cove Fort Knights reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2312 Great Diamond Island League Reliever of the Year Award.

"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Waldoboro, Maine native said.

For the season, Sideburn had no saves in 11 relief appearances, which totaled 15. He fanned 15 betters, while walking 2 and put up a record of 0-0 to go with his 1.20 ERA.

He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 8. Pax Trapper of the Echo Point Glowers finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Cobra Moore of the Diamond Cove Fort Knights finished third.
