Nuka World League Regular Season Ends
The 2312 NWL regular season has concluded, and the Nuka Series will be the Quantum Nukalurks versus the Cherry Ghoulrillas. Quantum is making its fourth Nuka Series and first since 2308. The Ghoulrillas will be playing in their seventh and first since 2307. Cherry is second all-time in championships with three, while the Nukalurks are third all-time with two. Victory has the most championships with four. Those are the only three teams to win multiple Nuka Series.
There were just two records set this season, both pitching. Quantum SP Cameron Biehler, who had already set the record for losses in a season (14) in 2307, has now set the record for victories in a season (18). His 18 victories besterd the 2307 record of 17 set by Jesse Emacipated. Cherry's CL Old Buck Buchanan also set the saves record (28), beating the record of 27 set in 2309 (Josh Kelley) and 2311 (Lionel Minelli). Buchanan previously had seasons of 26 saves (2307) and 25 (2306). He is the NWL's all-time saves leader with 157. The only other player with more than 100 in his career is Kelley, currently an RP on the Goodneighbor Hancocks of the CBO.
Amusement Park League
The 2313 APL season will look quite a bit different as the NWL figures out how to better manage its up-and-coming players. For now, this version of the APL is complete with the 2312 divisional champions being the Bradberton Disciples (Victory) and Grandchester Flying Ants (Cherry). The two teams won all championships from 2302 (Grandchester) through 2306 (Bradberton 2303-2306).
NWLRL
Speaking of changes, the NWLRL is folding after this season, and CBO franchises have already paid for the rights to a few team names. The thought is that there will be a mix of current teams from the APL and NWLRL making up the APL next season and copying the occupation of NWL stadiums for those teams. There is no word about the reassociation of teams or their parent teams.
For this ninth and supposedly final season of the NWLRL, the Nuka Jolly Elves (Victory) will take on the Hubologist Camp Barkers (Cherry) for the NWL Rookie Series. Cherry is represented in all three levels of the NWL playoffs. Neither of the Elves nor Barkers has ever won the NWLRL championship. Nuka Jolly is making is third NWL Rookie Series and second-straight. The Barkers are making their first appearance. They had been the only team to never appear in the NWL Rookie Series.
