Well, I've said, we won't get there until 2031, simply based on history*. So it's a tease. (And a STFU to Manfred putting the Pirates and the Gnats and so on in the playoffs; #1 v #1 in the series, anyhow.) And so it goes.

(Senga threw a bit without having his arm explode, so there's that, at least.)

*- ignoring how 1969 was a unique occurrence and a gift from the gods, the Mets won a pennant in 1973, their 12th year of existence.

They next reached the World Series in 1986, 13 years later.

After that, not until 2000, 14 years later.

And then 2015, 15 years later.

So I've known we're not due back until 2031, but still, one can't help hoping.

(They'd better finish the job in '31. I'm not certain I can last until 2048, much less 2066.)
