Striking early...
The Rays plated 8 runs in the top of the first and coasted to a 9-2 win over the Nationals to take a 2-1 lead in the World Series. Combined with the 5 runs they scored in the bottom of the 8th of Game 2 the Rays put 13 on the board in consecutive innings and today's rally was bookended by Nesty de la Rosa, who singled in a run to start the scoring and then capped the 8-run inning with a 2-run single. David Morales plated a pair as well and Dave Rose had an easy time of it on the mound. We'll roll the dice tomorrow with Melvin Lopez and he could give us a win that really would be playing with house money.
