In my league, the Dodgers released a fully healthy Ohtani in 2025. St. Louis then picked him up, paying $13.9 million, only to release him again after just seven starts as a starting pitcher. I thought this might be because I set the NL as a non-DH league, and the game couldnt handle it (every other setting is at default). Even though his bat is essentially wasted in my league, his SP rating of 59 should still make him valuable enough to keep.
If your league has a DH and they still released him, then maybe the DH setting isnt the issue. I can pretend the game is taking a stand against his gambling controversy.
