Not going to be a cakewalk...
On this Halloween night at the Trop the Rays bullpen turned out to be a trick and not a treat as Chicago overturned a 4-1 middle-inning deficit and took Game 3 from Tampa Bay 9-6 to cut their series deficit to 2-1.
Alistair Hardy's 3-run homer in the 5th gave the Rays that 4-1 lead and it looked like they were on track to go up 3-0 in the series. But then came the nightmare of the 7th inning as
Luis Oviedo gave up a 3-run homer with nobody out,
Jacob Watters proceeded to load the bases on three walks and by the time the inning was over the Cubs were up 8-4. The Rays rallied hard in the bottom of the inning, getting two runs back, but couldn't do any more. Also
Ryan Okuda had to leave early with back tightness and won't be available to start a Game 7 if necessary.
Jaden Stevenson will try to keep the Cubs from knotting the series tomorrow.
