Game 104: New York Highlanders vs. Boston Americans

Make that a sweep! The Boston Americans (60-44) topped the visiting New York Highlanders (50-54) by a 3 to 2 score before a passionate crowd of 8,083 cheering fans. The Americans now enjoy a 1-game lead in the American League race over the Washington Senators (59-45).

This was a nice outing from Jesse Tannehill (11-14), as he permitted just 2 earned runs on 10 hits and 1 walk; Game Score 59. Wiley Piatt (10-14) was saddled with the loss after allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks; Game Score 57.

The firepower came from the bats of Dave Brain (2 for 4, Triple, 2 Runs, RBI), Solly Hofman (1 for 3, Double, RBI), and Bill Lange (1 for 3, Run, Walk) to lead their team to victory. Jimmy Collins (2 for 5, Stolen Base), Harry Davis (1 for 3, Triple, Run, RBI, Walk), and Lave Cross (2 for 4, RBI) played well in the loss.

Player of the Game: Jesse Tannehill (Season: #10 / Career: #68)
