Received an unsolicited trade offer from the St. Louis Browns in which they are willing to part with 25-year old pitcher Tom Hughes (10-7 with 2.38 ERA in 162 1/3 IP with 2.2 WAR; career record of 48-69 with 2.91 ERA in 1051 IP with 16.1 WAR in 4 seasons; 1st Rd selection (#1) in 1899 draft) in return for 28-year old 3B Jesse Hoffmeister (.217/.292/.319 in 185 PA with 0.2 WAR; career slashline of .265/.317/.395 in 886 PA with 5.4 WAR; 1st Rd selection (#15) in 1896 draft). I have to admit, this is a tempting offer as I likely will need to replace Jesse Tannehill and Sam Leever at some point in the not so distant future. I am going to give this some serious consideration.
