Mainly the result of the way that draft data's been pieced together over the years, the former team wasn't there in the source most of the time. Eliteprospects has a field for it (I don't think it's visible through their site, but it's there), but it's often blank, particularly in drafts more than a decade old. At some point I'll try to pull data from a few different sources and see if we can get that a little more complete.
