BMU All-Star Game
Adavald Vigilant shined brightly tonight against the best talent that the BMU has to offer.
The all-star was named MVP for the annual mid-season showcase held at Poseidon Energy Ballpark, as his Massachusetts Association All-Stars downed the Commonwealth Association All-Stars by a count of 16-15.
"It's humbling to even play in a game like this with legends of the sport all around you," he said.
Vigilant went 3 for 3 to capture the honor.
Home Run Challenge:
A terrific cast of sluggers competed in the 2313 Home Run Challenge. Lou Ganon, the Taffington Boathouse Spy Hunters left fielder, prevailed to claim the championship hardware. He outperformed Trog Alderod in the final round by a score of 11-7.
"Everyone should get a chance to compete at least once in this event," said Ganon. "It's a lot of fun."
GBRL All-Star Game
Space Beam Field was the place to be for baseball fans tonight, as the best GBRL players gathered for the annual all-star game.
On the field, the North League downed the South League by a score of 8-2. Off the field, game MVP Jess Fowl said he thinks everyone had a good night.
"You looked into the stands and it seemed like everyone was having a fantastic time," said the 19-year-old, who went 1-for-2 in the game. "A game like this is good for the sport."
Home Run Challenge:
The house was rockin' -- Space Beam Field, that is -- site of this year's Home Run Challenge. A jubilant Christopher Powerarm outlasted the rest of the field to win the title. The Satellite Array Riflemen center fielder vanquished Gram Baylor in the final round by a score of 12-11.
"It was a battle of attrition," said Powerarm, "and I happened to be the last man standing."
During his career, Powerarm has played in 196 games, batted .248 with 48 home runs and 126 base hits.

The champs finished the regular season 47-13 and claimed first place in the BCAC.
In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Donovan Mackey said the Huskies have "great fans and they deserve this."
