BROOKLYN (June 5, 1869) – A huge third inning rally propelled Kings County to a ten-run home victory over Eckford of Greenpoint at Washington Park on Saturday afternoon:

Kings Co. #2 Charles Matthews had a fine performance – CG, 7 HA, 3 R (1 ER), 2 K, 2 RBI – but the team’s breakaway star against Eckford was OF James Hoyt:
