New season, same expectations.

2029 is here, the 6th season of Lynx baseball. Unfortunately, in this story, we find ourselves a little down and out. Picked to finish 4th in the division and sub .500, the Lynx have a lot to prove. The bullpen looks shaky, the hitting looks inconsistent, and the backend of the staff up for grabs.

We float Crecelius day one and find a bite. An all star catcher who would make Yady Molina's catching look blasé. Apparently, that 7 contact is a 'high' 7. We take the deal. It will also give us much needed breathing room on the money side of things. Now this does pose a problem. We just signed a new catcher in Mattingly. We'll be looking to deal him now. A #4 starter would be great or a solid BP arm. That waits for now.

March baseball again. I don't like it. March 21st is our opening day at home against San Diego. We take the first game of 2029 on the back of a stellar performance by Buck and a big 3 run shot by sophomore farm product, Koch. We lose the next one but come back to take the series, 2-1

Over to Ottawa, our divisional opponent. The boys are not ready to leave the comforts of home as we're downed, 3-5, 3-5, 2-6 for the first sweep of the season. 0-3

Back in Montreal, we face a good Honolulu team. They hand us another loss but we storm back in the second game putting up a football score, winning 24-7. It was a much needed show of offense since we'd looked emaciated at the plate. Only 5 extra base hits in those runs though one was a Grandy by Garza, our LF hopeful. However, we're unable to replicate it during the rubber match in a 13 inning 3-5 loss. 1-2

March baseball wraps up down in Guatemala. New #5 Valdes pitches a shut out in the opener with help from the BP. But the Guats strike back in a close game 2 to split the March half of the series. 1-1

4-7 A slow start but we're not a March baseball team. We know this.
