We are going for a sweep in Pittsburgh!

The Pirates are pitching Willie Banks (2-2, 3.20).

The Giants have John Burkett (3-6, 2.91).

I am hitting seventh.

Ryan Klesko led off the 2nd with a home run.
I came up with one out and Craig Grebeck on 1st. I lined out to Steve Aastrom at 2nd.

Giants lead 1-0

I returned the favour and handed an Aastrom grounder for the 1st out in bottom half.

Later that frame, however, John Valentin scored on a Keen Bass single.
Then Bass scored on an Antonio Nellum single.

Pirates lead 2-1

We tied it back up in the top of the 3rd when Ruben Sierra crossed on a single by Ryan.

Game tied 2-2

I came up with one out in the 4th and lined a single into short right.
I went to 3rd on a Greg Myers single, but Greg was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.
John walked but we were left on.

I caught a big foul pop by Dave Nilsson for the 1st out in the bottom of the 5th.

I came up in the 6th with one out and Jerry Browne on 1st. I hit another line drive single to right. Jerry went to 2nd.
We were stranded.

I came up in the 8th with two out and Bob Walk on the mound. I grounded out to Valentin at short.

I took care of a Dean Palmer grounder for the 1st out int he bottom of the 9th.

We broke the tie in the 10th when Ruben scored on a sac fly by Jerry.
I came up with two out and Craig and Ryan on 1st and 2nd. I grounded out.

Giants lead 3-2

Matt brought in Jeff Russell to close things out. I left the game with a double switch.

Because the thing you want on a one run game is to take out your multi-time gold glove winning SS.

As annoying as that was, Jeff got all three batters he faced and we got the win, the sweep, and our 4th victory in a row.

I went 2 for 5 with pair of singles.

We are now not alone in the basement as we have caught up to the Dodgers at 20-29.

The All-Star balloting update came out. I lead at SS. Jeff Russell is running 4th at RP.

Now we head to Shea to take on the Mets.
