I don't know. I managed to get the drive back by cycling the power, but it crashed again when I tried to access the folder with the database. I deleted the dat files, moved everything else off the drive, reformatted and put the folders back using the backup dat files and it's working fine.
I'm assuming you have some bad sectors. Drive could be failing. That or the controller on the MB is dying. I've had both happen.

I'd be careful saving anything important on that drive and look at replacing it ASAP
