We are going for the sweep agains the Reds today.

They are pitching Mike Bielecki (4-2, 4.31).

The Giants have John Burkett (4-7, 2.99).

I am leading off!

(I miss that being my spot...)

The Reds opened the scoring in the top of the 1st when Carlos Baerga scored on a Paul Molitor double.

Reds lead 1-0

I led off the home side by grounding out to Mark McGwire at 1st.

Rafael Serra led off the 2nd with a home run.
Then Glenn Braggs scored on a Baerga single.
Baerga and Matt Nokes scored on a Molitor triple.
I caught a McGwire liner to stop the bleeding.

Reds lead 5-0

I led off the bottom of the 3rd by grounding out to Baerga at 2nd.

I came up next with one out int he 5th and took a four pitch walk.
I was picked off 1st and got caught in a rundown. I did not escape.

Scott Service took over for us in the 6th.

Things turned for us somewhat in the bottom of the 6th.

Bryce Bernadin led off with a single.
Ryan Klesko singled, with Bryce going to 3rd.
Jerry Browne singled, scoring Bryce.
Craig Grebeck walked, loading the bases.
Tim Naehring walked, scoring Ryan.
Rob Dibble relieved and then struck out Alan Cockrell and pinch hitter Shawon Dunston, but then I walked, scoring Jerry.

Reds lead 5-3

Heathcliff Slocumb took the ball for us in the 7th.

I caught a sky-high Molitor pop for the 1st out.

With two out and two on in the 8th, Matt brought in Bryan Hickerson.
I dealt with a Baerga grounder for the 3rd out.

Mark Ross took the ball for the 9th.
I took care of a Molitor grounder for the 2nd out.
McGwire followed that with a solo homer.

Reds lead 6-3

I led off the bottom of the 9th, facing Norm Charlton.
I lined out to Baerga.
Ruben Sierra ended up scoring on a single by Jerry, but that was it and we lost, 6-4.

I went 0 for 3 with two walks, an RBI, and a caught stealing.

Too bad we couldn't end our home stand with a win, because we are now heading to Houston.
