Flying on the road
The Philadelphia Flyers continued a swing on the road with three straight road games in Boston, Detroit and Chicago.

In a low-shot game in Detroit, only 37 combined for the game, Philly held a 2-1 lead going to the 3rd period, but blew it with two goals in 3:15 to lose the game to the Red Wings.

The Flyers held a very close contested game through the first two periods, leading after a period 3-1, then 5-4 after 2. Philly got 3 in the 3rd, including two from Clint Smith for a hat trick. Another excellent game from Goodwin Harding.
