"Prince Hal" deported! Still no national league!
March 14, 1925 - México, Federal District - Written by Fray Nano

Just days after news came out that Hal Chase (pictured) was in talks with the government to become the commissioner of a brand new Mexican Baseball League, news of his deportation back to Arizona have broken. The disgraced former Major League Baseball player was playing in Nogales since 1923, after being banned from both MLB and the Pacific Coast League. It appears his deportation came at the request of American League president Ban Johnson, who contacted President Plutarco Elías Calles himself!

In other baseball news, the first match between Guanajuato and Multicolor for the Primera Fuerza championship is set to take place this afternoon at the Parque Franco-Inglés!

Guanajuato crowned Primera Fuerza Champions!
March 16, 1925 - México, Federal District - Written by Fray Nano

The Parque Franco-Inglés, neighboring the school of the same name on Calzada Verónica, was the stage for the first Primera Fuerza championship between Guanajuato and Multicolor. Guanajuato are the reigning Asociación de Baseball del Distrito Federal champions, and they face Multicolor who have won the Asociación Mexicana de Aficionados al Beisbol. Despite it being scheduled for three games, Guanajuato have won the first two and were crowned champions yesterday afternoon!

Despite the series being less close than expected, it was a total success, with the Franco-Inglés selling out twice! "We are very proud of our Federal District club getting the trophy," were the words of the FD Association president Ernesto Carmona, "We are already in talks with Mr. Rodríguez for a mixed professional and amateur league with the best four teams from each association. We once again thank the decorous public for attending these games and we hope they will get even more enjoyment out of the future of Mexican baseball."
