In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Montreal Expos and the Cincinnati Eagles have agreed to a deal that will have 28-year old C Danny Tutton(28, 2.5*) heading to Cincinnati in exchange for 25-year old 3B Orlando Gonzalez(25, 2.5*, .304-7-42 .809OPS 814G 2.4WAR AAA), 20-year old minor league RHSP Cesar Alvarado(20, 2/2.5HS, 2.5/3* OSA, 4-6 3.21 83K 15GS 1.6WAR S. A), and 24-year old minor league LF Ignacio Benavides(24, 2/2.5*, .247-4-16 .679OPS 49G 1.9WAR S A). Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games.

His career numbers show Tutton is hitting .242 with a total of 36 home runs, for 2020 he hit .241/.295/.422 17HR 38RBI 127G 1.7WAR. On the other hand, the NMBL Montreal Expos collected a talented right-handed starter and two solid bats.

In a separate deal, two teams were looking to Prove the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure. The Expos announced today the acquisition of 25-year old minor league LF Huai-yu Mah(25, 2.5*, .268-1-13 .798OPS 0.8WAR AA) and 25-year old minor league 2B David Quiros(25, 2.5*, .251-7-20 .663OPS 2.1WAR AA) from the Vancouver Canadians in exchange for 24-year old C Alex Taylor(24, 2/2.5*, .241-4-24 .593OPS 1.0WAR A). "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Expos, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams."

Overall, the Expos got some solid talent at multiple positions, and more crucial, two left-handed hitters in Mah and Quiros that can be used in platoon situations in the future, while still holding the contracts of Steve Fitch, Elias Mendia and Kevin Craddock behind the plate.

Yes, we are shuffling 2.5* talents around, but that is pretty much what we can do. Get a good stable roster, see how things work, sell high, buy low, hope for a break.
  • Left-handed hitters, we currently have none good(1-2) - Got some
  • Third Baseman backup - Got one
  • Outfield Backup - Got one and he is batting left-handed
