CBA Update - February Recap
The CBA held its first All-Star Game in February, while the Southern Commonwealth Conference continues to hold serve over the Northern Commonwealth Conference in individual team games and the All-Star extravaganza.
In the All-Star Game, the SCC was propelled by Boston star center Tre Davis in a 169166 victory. Davis was named the MVO, scoring 47 to go with five assists, four rebounds, two blocks, and three steals. Both Kareem Rieck of Cambridge and Junji Christie of Medford led the NCC in scoring with 35 apiece. Vee Tsankov of Southie was the SCC's second-leading scorer with 22 off the bench.
In the standings, the NCC has changed somewhat with Cambridge having a bad month, including a current seven-game losing streak. The Tigers are not in third place, four back of Salem at 23-23. Medford represents second place, while Con-Lex now possesses the CBA's worst record at 16-31.
In the SCC, Airport has begun to pull away with Quincy struggling. The Aviators went 9-1 in their past 10, while the Ironclads went 37, helping to boost Airport to an 8.5-game lead. Southie is 9.5 back at 26-23, and Boston is bringing up the rear at 24-24.
