Royals Spellbound. Ricketts Hurls No-Hitter

Miguel Ricketts(21, 3.5/5*) of the
Arizona Diamondbacks relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold
Kansas City hitless in his 1-0 win.
"I stayed ahead of batters," he said after the game, "and was able to get a lot of quick outs. My defense deserves a lot of credit too. They had to be on their toes and they saved me several times."
The 21-year-old starter rung up 5 strikeouts and 1 walk in whipping the
Royals.
"When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club,"
Kansas City skipper Ryan Johnson said.
To date this year, in 6 starts, Ricketts has crafted a 3-2 mark with a 2.41 ERA, striking out 29 in 41 innings. He former 5th overall selection in 2018 already has amassed 0.7WAR.

Four-bagger Feast: Garcia Slugs 3 for Atlanta

Atlanta Minutemen first baseman
Ramon Garcia(29, 2.5*) slugged three home runs against the
Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The
Marlins spoiled his day by defeating the
Minutemen, 10-4.
"The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game
Ramon had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come,"
Atlanta manager Tom Middleton. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Ramon, he would have preferred a win."
For the game,
Garcia was 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone,"
Garcia said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too."
