Rangers Earn 6-3 Home Win
Chicago and
Montreal duked it out and the
Rangers came out victorious.
Chicago pitcher
Josh Gibson had a large part in his team beating the
Montreal Expos, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. For the
Expos, the loss makes their record 9-21.
The
Rangers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"Josh showed what he's made of," said
Chicago manager Brett Morse.
Josh Gibson is now 2-0 against
Montreal.

Vrable goes 3-for-3 to Ignite Rangers Offense
Getting a good performance from third baseman
Andy Vrable, the
Chicago Rangers defeated the
Montreal Expos, 5-1.
Vrable went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the
Rangers.
Chicago, now 25-7, is setting the league on fire so far.
With
Chicago leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third,
Vrable hit a 2-run single off
Montreal hurler
Victor Lopez. It was the 35th hit of the season for
Vrable and put his team ahead, 4-0.
Vrable said his team "played with determination." The 2018 World Series Champion is batting .347-9-25 1.130OPS 1.8WAR in 29 games.

Grizzlies were led by
Roberto Jimenez.
Jimenez was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
Jose Gutierrez recorded his 7th save for
Philadelphia. With the win,
Philadelphia raised its record to 17-16.
Early in the game,
Jimenez had a grand slam home run for
Philadelphia. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the

The
Philadelphia Grizzlies withstood an impressive performance by
Montreal left fielder
Karl Ferguson to defeat the
Expos, 5-4, at Olympic Stadium.
Ferguson went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Jose Gutierrez came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. The third-place
Grizzlies have won 5 straight games.
Philadelphia needed the clutch hitting of
Jose Pena to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the
Grizzlies on top, 5-4. For the game,
Pena had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats. The 2016 EL All-Star is batting .236-6-16 .739OPS in 28 games.

Fidel de Leon, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was
Jessie Dittus. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits. The right-hander struck out 4 and walked 5.
Colin Taylor earned the save, his 2nd, for the
Grizzlies.
With
Philadelphia leading 1-0 in the top of the third,
de Leon hit a slider from
Adrian Hilscher for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the
Grizzlies ahead, 4-0. He is now batting .304-10-25 .982OPS in 32 games.
