1947 Major Transactions

As expected, there was a frenzy of signings as several "big names" became free agents. With the Desert League's players not reaching free agency until the 1949 offseason, teams solely relied on the Mexican free agent market to reinforce their squads.

The Consulate
Several big names got their visas stamped, lured by big money contracts in the Desert League. Let's take a look!
- Former León SS José Parra signed a $68k contract with El Paso. The three-time Temanahui winner will be a Coyote for the next 5 years.
- 1B Héctor Ramírez will make almost $20k more than he did last year, this time with the Dallas Mustangs after signing for 3 years.
- LHP Rich Faircloth makes history upon his return to US soil, becoming the first player to sign a $100k contract. He does so with El Paso for the next 5 years.
- 3B Rubén Riviera puts pen to paper on a $99.6k contract over the next 4 years with the Houston Longhorns
- Riviera is then joined by 6x Teyaotlani 1B Mario Morales, becoming the highest paid player to date. Morales signs a $121k contract for 5 years, $26k of which he'll make this year.
- 2B Ehécatl Cocom and the Ft. Worth Horned Frogs pact for 3 years, $47.4k
- RHP Israel Álvarez will lead the Tucson Saguaros' rotation this year after signing an even $20k over 4 years.
- 26 year old David de la Rosa becomes the youngest of the bunch and joins the LA Condors for $98k over 4 years.
