BMU All-Star Game
During the star-studded affair, the 2314 Commonwealth Association All-Stars defeated the Massachusetts Association All-Stars by a score of 9-3.
The fans in attendance at Joe Cronin Memorial Field certainly enjoyed the show, seeing the best that the game had to offer.
Chief among the stars was Rhys Brown, who led the Commonwealth Association to victory. Brown, a member of the Lynn Woods Bloatflies (Easy Town), went 2 for 3 with a double, a home run, a run, and an RBI.
"I will admit I was nervous out there. To share a field with such incredible players is always a humbling experience. But after the first couple pitches, you just have to ignore the talent out there and focus on your game," Brown commented as he accepted his award after the game.
Brown was a 2313 4th Round pick by the Assautrons out of Holy Cross College.
GBRL All-Star Game
Clean Blake Dean shined brightly tonight against the best talent that the GBRL has to offer.
The Woonsocket Orphans' (Lexington) right fielder was named MVP for the annual mid-season showcase held at West Haven Stadium, as his South League All-Stars downed the North League All-Stars by a count of 8-6.
"It's humbling to even play in a game like this with legends of the sport all around you," he said.
Dean went 3 for 5 to capture the honor.
Dean's all-time stats include: 182 hits, 36 doubles, 4 triples, 64 home runs and 155 RBIs in 167 games. He is batting .354 with 3 stolen bases and has scored 129 runs. He was a 2311 2nd-round pick by Lexington out of Brockton of the CYL.
