Expos Hinton Gone for Year
stadiumreport.bbn June 30th, 2021
The
Montreal Expos and their fans were rocked today by the news that star starting pitcher
Dan Hinton would miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Hinton was hurt in a recent game against the
Detroit Trains while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a
torn flexor tendon in his elbow. His doctors think that
Hinton will miss about
8-9 months.
So far this year,
Hinton has compiled a 4-0 record with a 1.93 ERA and 38K in 42IP, good for 1.7WAR.
Next Headline: Montreal Expos GM jumps off Olympic Stadium roof… so much for the last bit of excitement in this season and the chance to sent Hinton to the development camp to improve on his strength and injury proneness...

Roy with a great start, but we had nothing today and to add injury to insult, RF
Ian Messer suffers from a tired arm. We will not him on the DL, but use
Mah and

Trains Deal Expos 5-3 Defeat
The

Adrian Hilscher took the loss for

Detroit has 4 straight wins,
Montreal 3 straight losses.
Mark MacAskill, who finished 4th in the EL in extra base hits with 68 in 2012, had a direct impact on the outcome.
MacAskill contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put
Detroit up, 4-1. The 33-year old veteran and 2x All-Star is batting .239-10-29 .756OPS in 54 games.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow,"

After I blacked out in the GM’s office, I realized that my assistant GM called up the 27-year old wrecked body of
Melvin Magana(27, 2.5*, 2-4 3.53 62K 71.1IP 1.0WAR AAA). A career 45-48 4.47 660K pitcher in 152G/121GS with 731.2IP that won double digit games in his first three seasons, injuries wrecked his body.
We decided to not call up our prospect SP
Juan Miranda(23, 2.5/3*) as we really wanted him to get the full season in AAA and there was no reason to start his service time with this rotten team…
News:
Philadelphia Grizzlies SP
Jessie Dittus(26, 4*) pitched eight strong innings of 1-hit, 2BB and 6K ball in a 6-0 win in
Toronto. The 2018 EL Reliever of the Year is now 7-4 3.09 78K in 14 starts and batting .259-4-10 .870OPS in 17 games as a catcher/DH.
