Ben Callahan, Oakland, 1983
Here is another. Ben Callahan was a right hander out of Mt. Airy North Carolina. He looked OK in the low reaches of the Yankee chain, but had a mediocre year at AA Nashville in '82 and was dealt to Oakland in June of 1983 in a deal for Matt Keough. Callahan worked just 9.1 innings for the A's, posted a 12.54 ERA, never made it back to the bigs, and was out of baseball two years later.
