Art Delaney commenced his Major League career with the 1924 St. Louis Cardinals and the attached image is representative of that season.
A right handed pitcher he appeared in 8 games and completed his only start. At 27 a relatively senior rookie he posted an impresssive 1.80 ERA. After this promising start it is surprising that it was not until 1928 that he reappeared with the Boston Braves. He started 22 games posting a 9-17 record. He played 20 games the following season with the Braves but his ERA increased from 3.79 to 6.12 and he never played again in the Majors.
