July 23-25, 2027

July 23: at NY Yankees 3-2 W (10). WP-Bautista (9-3). Starter-Gasser (6 5 2 2 2 5). HR-Caminero (19), Westburg (13). Williams' RBI single in the 10th won it for the Rays while Westburg extended his hitting streak to 20 games with his solo shot and speaking of streaks the Rays have now won 9 straight.

July 24: at NY Yankees 7-4 W. WP-Pepiot (6-7). S-Bautista (20). Starter-Springs (4.2 2 2 2 4 5). HR-Isaac 2 (24), C.Williams (9). Isaac's 2nd homer of the game was a 3-run shot in the 8th which broke a 4-4 tie and gave Tampa Bay its 10th straight win. Pepiot got the relief win despite giving up a couple of homers to put the Rays behind.

July 25: at NY Yankees 3-0 W
. WP-McClanahan (12-2, 6.1 3 0 0 2 9). S-Robertson (3). HR-Morel (27). Mac continues to make his case for the AL Cy Young by following up his All-Star start with another scoreless outing. Morel homered and stole a base, giving him 27 of each and the win streak has now reached 11 games.

Team record: 66-33
. The lead in the AL East is up to 11 1/2 games on Baltimore. Next week: We wrap up the 4-game set with the Yankees on Monday then go to Toronto for 3 before returning home for 3 against Cincinnati.

Players of the (abbreviated) Week:

AL: Jonny DeLuca (CLE), 5-10, 4 HR, 7 RBI
NL: Kevin Alcantara (CHI), 6-11, 3 HR, 7 RBI

Had no idea DeLuca would have this great a season when we dealt him to Cleveland for the reliever Hentges - he's hit 304/353/594 with 25 HR and 72 RBI and made the All-Star Game.
