July 26-August 1, 2027

July 26: at NY Yankees 5-1 W. WP-Bradley (9-5, 8 3 1 1 1 7). HR-B.Jones (11), Kjerstad (9). Rays swept the 4-game series and made it 12 wins in a row total thanks to a gem from Taj and homers from Brock and Kjerstad.

July 27: at Toronto 7-12 L. LP-H.Smith (11-3, 4.2 8 8 7 0 4). HR-Isaac 3 (27), Westburg (14). The Rays' 12-game win streak came to a crashing halt as the Jays tattooed Smith, wasting a 3-HR, 5-RBI career day from Isaac. Pepiot gave up 4 more runs in relief after Smith departed.

July 28: at Toronto 1-3 L
. LP-Gasser (9-6, 5 5 3 3 2 6). From a 12-game win streak to a 2-game losing streak now as the bats were muted.

July 29: at Toronto 9-6 W. WP-Springs (1-0, 5 4 2 1 5 1). S-Bautista (21). HR-Westburg (15), C.Williams (10). Toronto was up 2-1 after 5 but 4-spots in the 6th and 8th enabled the Rays to salvage the final. Williams swung the big bat, going 4-5 with a 2-run double and a 2-run homer and Springs got his first win in nearly a year despite control problems.

July 30: vs Cincinnati 2-1 W (11). WP-Lovelady (4-2). Starter-McClanahan (6.2 6 0 0 1 7). HR-C.Williams (11). A classic pitchers' duel between Mac and Max Fried, scoreless until the 8th when the Reds got a run and the Rays answered with Williams' solo shot. Lovelady kept the ghost runner from scoring in the 10th and 11th, setting up Westburg from the game-winning RBI.

July 31: vs Cincinnati 8-10 L. LP-Bradley (9-6, 4.1 8 8 4 1 6). HR-J.Lowe (11), Isaac (28), P.Meadows (7), Kjerstad (10). Taj gave up 5 in the second thanks to a homer and an error before the Rays tied it by the 3rd, only for the Reds to keep scoring while the Rays tried to keep pace to no avail. Lowe was 2-4 with the homer and 3 RBI while Y.Diaz was 3-4 with 2 RBI in the losing cause.

August 1: vs Cincinnati 5-1 W. WP-H.Smith (12-3, 7.1 5 1 1 1 8). Smith bounced back from a couple of bad starts while J.Lowe had a 2-run double in a 4-run 5th that was key to victory.

MLB News: We had the trade deadline, and despite looking for another bullpen arm I couldn't find a deal that worked so we stood pat. Notable movers were Freddy Peralta (HOU to PHI), Mike Yastrzemski (LAD to COL), JT Realmuto (CLE to MIN) and Matt Chapman (HOU to LAA). Also Boston's Rafael Devers hit career homer #300.
