Hilscher Finally Wins as Expos Beat Nats, 4-1

Montreal turned a good effort from starter Adrian Hilscher into a win over the Washington Nationals at Olympic Stadium. He worked 6.1 scoreless innings of three hit and 8 strikeout ball in the win.

The Expos won the game, 4-1. Ryan Rasbach notched his 24th save in 31 chances. The Expos saw their win-loss record go to 52-73. At the same time, the Nationals fell to 51-76.

Dan Cook had a big solo home run for the Expos in the bottom of the third inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Manny Garcia, who is tied for 9th in the EL in quality starts with 13, and punished it. The result was his 15th home run of the season, which put the Expos on top, 2-0.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Cook told the Montreal News. He is batting .288-15-53 .8142OPS 1.5WAR in 123 games.

Nelson Flores(R, 5-5 4.86) – Austin Roy(R, 5-12 4.95) tomorrow. $16.2M veteran that has fallen off the cliff.
