Since we can expand the NHL it would also be nice to have an option to expand the playoffs.

NBA option is interesting: Conference 7v8 best-of-1 for 7 seed, then loser played winner of 9v10 best-of-1 for 8 seed.

Or just additional wildcards with conference leaders getting a first round bye.

I like to try different things every few seasons just to keep it fresh but playoffs are the one thing I can't adjust (to add more teams).
