I remember really enjoying this video. The oitp simulation is so good though that it might smooth out the results over time, and still generate realistic stats based on this level of play. If pitchers and hitters are equally bad you might end up with realistic results.

One way you could do the spirit of the Jon bois thing is if only hitting or pitching declined, like if all pitchers suddenly could throw 150mph or something
